Tufted Puffin- (Fratercula cirrhata)

Typically pelagic birds that spend most of their life at sea, Tufted puffins, come ashore to breed for a couple of months every summer. On the outer coast of Clayoquot Sound is a small low-lying island. Cleland Island is recognized as the first ecological reserve in Canada based solely on protecting nesting sea birds.
