The Whale Centre is the safest and environmentally friendly whale waching & eco-adventure company in Tofino, British Columbia. 

Celebrating 20 years of adventure on the Pacific west coast, The Whale Centre continues to explore and embrace the beauty and mystery of Clayoquot Sound. Located along the rugged coastline of Vancouver Island, in Tofino, BC, we excel at providing guests with amazing marine adventures. Whether you dream of hiking in the rainforest, soaking in an all natural hot springs, seeing whales feeding, bears foraging or birds soaring, we offer it all! The Whale Centre specializes in the natural history and marine ecosystems here in Clayoquot Sound. Our office, located in the heart of Tofino’s downtown, has an incredible Grey whale skeleton that is a must see for all ages. We also offer free parking and a great west coast themed gift shop.

Our company is locally family owned and operated, with 2 generations of skippers waiting to take you out on the water and share their passion for the area with you. The younger generation grew up on the water with their families in Clayoquot sound, so the transition into tours was a natural one. Their love and knowledge of the area is clear as they share their home with visitors from around the world.

  The Whale Centre is a founding member of the Pacific Rim Association of Tour Operators (PRATO) and we support the whale watching guidelines for responsible whale watching and safety, Be Whale Wise. A portion of each tour proceeds to go supporting local wildlife research and marine wildlife rescue programs. Our company feels that it is our responsibility to be environmentally responsible and to advocate for the marine life in Clayoquot sound so that future generations can share this amazing place.
